There’s no better way to finish the day than watching the amazing sunset over Uluru, before snuggling inside your swag under the star-studded desert sky.

After an early breakfast, we’ll head to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) for a sunrise and visit the majestic Valley of the Winds, with its ancient rock formations and extraordinary views. The hikes here can be challenging at times with steep sections and duration of about 3 ½ hours. We relax back at our campground, take a dip in the swimming pool or join one of our adrenalin Plus options.

Revised Rock 2 Water Itinerary in Summer Season (November to March)

For the months of November through to March we have made some slight changes to the above itinerary to ensure we are compliant with Parks NT and Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon) Heat Management Strategy. Temperatures can reach to a top of 40-45 degrees celsius.

The revised itinerary will mean that we are only spending one night at Yulara – we can still facilitate pickups from flights into Yulara.  The activities at Yulara will still be comprehensive, including Cultural Centre, Uluru Base walk, and a walk at Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta.  We should complete all these activities by midday on day 2 of the itinerary.  From Yulara, we will proceed to Kings Creek Station for an overnight stop.  The next morning, we will complete the Kings Canyon Rim Walk (we start early to avoid the heat and risk of track being closed by Parks NT).

When we have completed these activities, we will proceed to a location of the tour guides choice for Night 3, being one of Erldunda, Kulgera or a Bush Camp in swags.  This will also reduce the travel time to Coober Pedy on Day 4 and make it safer for all concerned when travelling in the heat.

Our itinerary will remain as per the original itinerary from Coober Pedy to Adelaide.
